The Chief Minister of Haryana has introduced the Haryana Below Poverty Line (BPL) Card in 2023 to provide assistance to citizens who fall below the poverty line in the state. The BPL Card allows eligible families to access government-provided benefits. Approximately 28 lakh families in the state belong to the Antodaya category and face financial challenges, affecting their ability to afford proper food and living conditions.
To avail the benefits of the BPL Ration Card, eligible families need to apply through the online application form provided by the concerned department. There are five types of ration cards available in Haryana: BPL Ration Card, Above Poverty Line (APL) Ration Card, Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) Ration Card, and Annapurna Yojana Ration Card.
If you have applied for the BPL Ration Card, you can check your application status on the official portal. The state-level portal provides information about various ration cards for the citizens of Haryana.
The two types of ration cards available are Khaki Ration Card, which provides 5kg of wheat per month, and Yellow Ration Card, offering 2kg of sugar at Rs 13.50 per kg, 7 liters of kerosene at Rs 17.63 per liter, and 2.5kg of pulses at Rs 20 per kg every month.
The application process for the BPL Ration Card is done online. The government aims to distribute BPL Ration Cards to around 29 lakh families in need.
Eligibility for the BPL Ration Card depends on the financial condition of the family, with the income being below or equal to Rs 1.8 lakh. If you meet the eligibility criteria, apply for the BPL Ration Card to avail various government scheme benefits through the Haryana BPL Card List 2023.
