Yara Sayeh Shahidi is a model and actress from the United States. She gained fame for her leading role as Zoey Johnson, the oldest daughter, on the television sitcom Black-ish and its spin-off, Grown-ish. Shahidi has also appeared in films such as Imagine That, Smallfoot, and as the lead in The Sun Is Also a Star.
At the age of 6, Shahidi began her career in television commercials and print advertisements for a variety of companies such as Ralph Lauren, McDonald’s, Target, GapKids, Disney, Guess Kids, and The Children’s Place. She frequently worked alongside her mother and younger brother in various print and broadcast campaigns.
Shahidi made her debut on the big screen in 2009, starring opposite Eddie Murphy in the Paramount Pictures film Imagine That, for which she was nominated for a Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a Feature Film.
