The scheduled matches are set to take place at various distinguished cricketing venues across India. These iconic locations include Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, MCA International Stadium in Pune, MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium in Dharamsala, Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, and Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Each of these renowned stadiums holds its own unique history and significance in the world of cricket, contributing to the rich tapestry of the sport across the country.
The championship is structured following the format of the Cricket World Cup 2019, ensuring an exciting and competitive tournament. A total of 10 formidable teams, namely India, England, Pakistan, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Netherlands, will engage in a round-robin series, where each team faces off against every other team once. This round-robin format serves as the initial phase, fostering intense competition and allowing each team to showcase its prowess on the field.
Following the round-robin stage, the top four teams from the standings will advance to the highly anticipated semi-finals. The structure of the semi-finals is defined by the International Cricket Council (ICC), where the team securing the highest position after the round robin will square off against the fourth-placed team. Simultaneously, the second and third-ranked teams will battle it out in the other semi-final encounter. This setup not only ensures that the top-performing teams are rewarded with a direct path to the semi-finals but also adds an extra layer of strategic importance to each match during the round-robin phase.
